Dennis J. Gounley

Dennis J. Gounley, 76, of Murrysville, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 21, 2026, at UPMC Family Hospice.  He was born on January 29, 1950, in Philadelphia, son of the late George Gerard Gounley and Elizabeth Mary Maggioncalda Gounley. 

Dennis enjoyed practicing law and serving his clients for more than 50 years.  He served as a mental health judge for Westmoreland County for approximately 30 years.  He loved his Schnauzer dogs, Amy and Celia. He was also a longtime member of the Murrysville/ Export Rotary and served as its president.

He is survived by his loving wife, Martha A. (Zatezalo) Gounley; his two sisters, Connie Rose and Frances A. Messer; his three brothers, Jerry Gounley, Andrew Gounley, and Nicholas Gounley; and numerous loving nieces and nephews.  

Visitation for Dennis will be held on Thursday, February 26, 2026, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at Hart Funeral Home, Inc., Murrysville. A Blessing Service will be held at the funeral home on Friday, February 27, 2026, at 9:30 a.m., with interment to follow at Twin Valley Memorial Park in Delmont.
