Patricia J. Thompson, 79, of Murrysville, passed away Sunday, February 15, 2026, at her home. She was born on November 1, 1946, in Pittsburgh, daughter of the late Frank and Lois (Whitcomb) McCluskey. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, William Ladd Thompson, her sister, Karen Sienkiewicz, her brother-in-law, Edward Sienkiewicz, and a granddaughter, Ashley Scharba.
Patricia loved her family more than anything and rarely missed an activity or event involving her grandchildren. She had a gift for connecting with people and was always excited to meet someone new and form lasting friendships. Creativity was a constant part of her life, from making dolls in the 1980s to weaving baskets in the 1990s, sewing costumes for her grandchildren, and more recently, creating handmade signs to share with family and friends. She cherished traveling with loved ones and especially looked forward to her yearly trips to Daytona Beach. Christmas was her favorite time of year, and she took great joy in creating magical memories for her children and grandchildren. She also had a fondness for simple favorites like pickled beets, cranberry sauce, sweet potatoes, and fish sandwiches. She was dedicated to the Franklin Regional Class of 64, and loved organizing class reunions and monthly dinners with her classmates. Patricia loved everyone she met, and her warmth made it easy for everyone to love her in return.
Patricia is survived by her three children, Jennifer Scharba, Ryan (Nicole) Kociela, and Mark Thompson; her four grandchildren, Tyler, Callan, Nathan, and Jamie; and her sister, Susan (Mark) Gruver. She was lovingly known as “Grammy Pat” to many other family and friends whose lives she touched.
Memorial visitation for Patricia will be held on Sunday, February 22, 2026, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Hart Funeral Home, Inc., Murrysville. A Memorial Service will be held at the funeral home on Monday, February 23, 2026, at 11:00 am.
